SE 19th Avenue Neighborhood Greenway

The SE 19th Avenue Neighborhood Greenway is a low traffic, “low stress” biking and walking route that runs north-south through the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood, connecting two segments of the Springwater Corridor multi-use path and offering a more comfortable alternative to biking on SE Milwaukie Avenue, SE 17th Avenue or SE McLoughlin Boulevard. The project has been constructed in multiple phases and is anticipated to be complete in spring of 2018.

Project elements include:

Speed bumps, shared roadway markings, and wayfinding signage on:

  • SE 19th Avenue (Linn Street – Reedway Street)
  • SE Reedway Street (19th Avenue – 20th Avenue)
  • SE 20th Avenue (Reedway Street – Insley Street)
  • SE Harold Street (20th Avenue – McLoughlin Boulevard)
  • SE Insley Street (20th Avenue – Milwaukie Avenue)
  • SE Mitchell Street (Milwaukie Avenue – 17th Avenue)

Northbound buffered bike lane on SE Milwaukie Avenue (Insley Street – Mitchell Street) - Requires on-street parking removal on west side of street

Southbound buffered bike lane on SE 17th Avenue (McLoughlin Boulevard – Insley Street) - Requires on-street parking removal on west side of street

Enhanced pedestrian/bicycle crossing at SE 19th Avenue and Tacoma Street 

  • Pedestrian hybrid traffic signal
  • Curb extensions

Enhanced pedestrian/bicycle crossing at SE 19th Avenue and Bybee Boulevard

  • Rectangular rapid flashing beacon
  • Reconstructed curb ramps

Enhanced pedestrian/bicycle crossing at SE Milwaukie Avenue and Mitchell Street

  • Rectangular rapid flashing beacon
  • Curb extensions and large refuge island
