Vanpooling - It's like carpooling, only bigger and cheaper!
What's the difference between a vanpool and a carpool? The short answer: More people, more savings! There are, however, a few key differences in the Portland Metro area:
1. The Metro VanPool program has an "Emergency Ride Home" feature. If a family emergency occurs before it is time for your vanpool to return home, then your ride is only a phone call away. Metro VanPool provides participants a free emergency ride home in a cab.
2. A vanpool has at least 5 people; a carpool has 2 or more.
3. If you live in SW Washington, C-TRAN is subsidizing the cost of vanpools, so you save even more!
