Get ready all you transit riders.  After two-plus years of buses on 3rd and 4th Avenues in downtown, TriMet is about to unveil the new Portland Mall.

Starting on Sunday, May 24th, all the buses that have been relocated to 3rd and 4th will shift back to 5th and 6th.  A lot has changed since 2007 when the buses moved off the Mall.  There are new crossings, street furniture, and shelters.  Automobiles are now permitted the entire length of 5th and 6th.  Oh yeah, and a couple of new MAX lines too (although the MAX won't be running on the Transit Mall until September).
