March 22, 2011
Thank you Michael Vu for use of your beautiful photos from the event.
Congratulations to the inspiring students who organized the vigil for Japan in Pioneer Courthouse Square last Friday. This group of Japanese students from three different Oregon colleges successfully raised nearly $8,000 for the victims of the earthquake in Japan. Commissioner Fish was happy to help and support the organization and planning of this important event.
Several other benefits are taking place later this month including the Portland Taiko performance tonight at Portland State University’s Lincoln Hall. Also “From Oregon With Love” benefit concert happening Sunday, March 27 featuring Thomas Lauderdale and his band Pink Martini, with Storm Large, dancers from the Oregon Ballet Theater and more. Tickets on sale here.
