Royal Rosarians kick off Centennial Year with statue unveiling in Washington Park
October 10, 2011
Nick was honored to join the Royal Rosarians for a very special celebration this weekend.
To commemorate 100 years of community involvement and service to the city of Portland, the Rosarians unveiled a beautiful new statue in Washington Park, an iconic Portland destination. Washington Park's "International Rose Test Garden," where the new statue is located, features hundreds of varieties of roses.
As Portland's official greeters and ambassadors of goodwill, the Rosarians have represented Portland in cities around the world.
Next year, the Rosarians will officially dedicate the statue and install a time capsule with memories of the year's centennial celebrations at its base.
