Story by Sophia Kecskes
Do you know a young person who is involved in their community? The upcoming Jennifer Beegle Youth Involvement Award will recognize outstanding youth and all they do to help the community we live in.
This award, sponsored by the Multnomah Youth Commission and the Citizen Involvement Committee of Multnomah County, will be presented on April 18th in the Multnomah County Board Room. Created in memory of Jennifer Beegle, a Multnomah Youth Commissioner who was tragically killed in a car accident at the age of 17, this annual award highlights the positive affects that engaged youth have on communities.
Nominations are due on March 21, 2012. An ideal candidate would be someone who volunteers in a community based agency, local government or place of worship. Click here for more information.
