Spring Community Garden Openings

We’d like to share some great news - we're opening six new community gardens before the end of June! The following gardens will provide space for 250 new gardeners:
- Clarendon, North Portland
- Kenton, North Portland
- Ed Benedict, SE Portland
- Errol Heights, SE Portland
- Frazer, NE Portland
- Grant High School, NE Portland
Community garden plots offer space to grow healthy, organic, low-cost food. Through our 1,000 Gardens initiative, we're working with community partners to bring 1,000 new community garden plots to Portlanders by the end of 2012. In addition, planning and fundraising are underway for another three gardens tentatively scheduled to open later this year at Thomas Cully Park, Helensview High School, and Mt. Tabor Park.
