Pittock Mansion getting much needed renovation
June 15, 2012
Portland Parks & Recreation’s Pittock Mansion will soon undergo a major renovation.
The $1.1 million renovation of one of Portland’s most well-known historic structures is expected to start next summer. The plan is to restore and waterproof the 103-year-old mansion’s four terraces. Currently, the terraces do not drain properly, which has lead to water damage on the mansion’s exterior.
Parks has committed $550,000 to the renovation, with the rest of the funding coming from generous public donations and our partner, the Pittock Mansion Society. We are pleased to be a part of this very meaningful project that will help preserve this historic Portland building.
