Sunday Parkways in North Portland
June 21, 2012
By David Nguyen
Join Portland Parks & Recreation and the Portland Bureau of Transportation for another Sunday Parkways event in North Portland this Sunday, 11 am - 4 pm!
Sunday Parkways grew from the community desire to open streets and connect neighborhoods. Our oldest route, North Sunday Parkways, has grown in mileage and participants.
The event promotes healthy, active living through free events; opening the city's largest public space - its streets - to walk, bike, roll, and discover active transportation.
These fun activities foster civic pride, stimulate economic development, and represent the community, business, and government investments in Portland's livability.
Participants will enjoy various activities, food, vendors, music, and fun at Peninsula, Arbor Lodge, Kenton, and McCoy Parks; plus Columbia Annex and Willamette Bluff.
