Construction for the new Blanchet House is almost complete.
The Blanchet House has been meeting its goal to "feed, clothes and offer shelter and aid to those in need" since 1952.
The new 36,500 square foot, four-story building will triple Blanchet's space, increasing the number of beds for those in need from 28 to 60.
The Portland Housing Bureau committed $4 million in grants and additional support for the project.
We are looking forward to the grand opening of the new Blanchet House this fall.
