City searching for Creative Laureate Volunteer

The Mayor's Office is now accepting applications for a new position--Creative Laureate.
Created in collaboration with the Regional Arts & Culture Council, this one-year volunteer position is for a creative professional looking to serve as Portland's "cultural ambassador."
The Laureate will act as an advocate for Portland's creative community and work from the Mayor's Office to "inspire and promote the diverse and dynamic array of Portland’s creative communities, organizations, businesses and individuals."
Strong nominees will have significantly contributed to their fields and communities. Possible creative practices include, but are not limited to: visual and performing arts, literary arts, architecture, film, culinary arts, gaming, photography/photojournalism, creative technology, craft and folk traditions, woodworking, design, music and fabric arts.
