We are pleased to report that the Portland Arts Education & Access Income Tax passed a major legal hurdle yesterday, when Circuit Judge Kelly Skye ruled that the tax is constitutional.

Portlanders showed their overwhelming support for the arts in November 2012 when they approved the Arts Tax measure with 62% of the vote.

The tax will fund Portland-area school teachers and arts-focused nonprofit organizations throughout the community.
