What:   Now that an interim suicide-prevention barrier has been installed on the Vista Bridge, the City of Portland is turning to the community to gather input for a long term installation that complements the historic character of the bridge.  

Portland City Commissioner Steve Novick will lead the community discussion about funding options and design possibilities and for the Vista Bridge installation.  PBOT Director Leah Treat will moderate the discussion. The Transportation Bureau’s Chief Bridge Engineer David O’Longaigh will present treatments for bridges in other cities with similar situations and review potential design options for Portland’s Vista Bridge.
