Fish team tours Oregon Historical Society
August 8, 2014
This afternoon, the Fish team enjoyed a tour of the Oregon Historical Society's latest exhibit, 2 Years, 1 Month: Lincoln's Legacy.
The breathtaking collection is possible in large part to the Mark Family's generosity, and their impressive collection of Presidential memorabilia. It's the largest privately-held collection in the country.
Pete Mark graciously walked us through the exhibit, which includes a rare first printing of the Emancipation Proclamation, the House of Representatives copy of the Thirteenth Amendment, a Civil War uniform and saber, correspondence between President Lincoln and other American leaders, and more.
The exhibit is up through October 6. Learn more about Lincoln's Legacy and other exhibits on OHS's website: http://www.ohs.org/. The Oregon Historical Society is free to residents of Multnomah County.
