Grants for an artistic community

June 8, 2015

Do you have a creative idea for an art project or local arts event?

The Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) invites artists and non-profit organizations to submit proposals for 2016 Project Grants.

Project Grants fund presentations, performances, art exhibits, or other artworks that are available to the general public. Successful proposals will target one of two themes: Artistic Focus or Community Participation and Access. Artistic Focus requires projects to be innovative and artistically creative. Community Participation encourages high levels of youth and community engagement.

Past grantees include individual artists and community organizations like Fear No Music, the Native American Youth & Family Center, Boom Arts, Big Horn Brass, and more. For example, RACC funds helped Hacienda CDC facilitate a bilingual exhibit at the new Portland Mercado. The exhibit highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit of our Latino Community.

Nick is proud to serve as Council liaison to RACC and our diverse community arts organizations. Grants like these help support Portland’s thriving arts and culture scene.

RACC has $600,000 available for the grants, ranging from $1,000 to $7,000.

The “Intent to Apply” deadline is August 5. Check out RACC’s website for more information.
