From there to here
August 24, 2015
Talented artist Andy Behrle explores Portland’s visionary water system in the Portland Building’s latest art installation, from there to here.
Behrle’s installation was inspired by a public tour of the Bull Run Watershed. From there to here examines the wild beauty and origins of our water at the Bull Run, and the urban setting of Portland where it ends.
The Bull Run Watershed is Portland’s primary drinking water source. It includes the Bull Run Lake and two reservoirs, as well as the Bull Run River, tributaries, and other feeders. The two reservoirs hold about 10 billion gallons of usable water, and serve nearly a million Oregonians.
The Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) sponsors the Installation Art Series. Selected through a juried process, each installation questions common perspectives through art.
From there to here is up now through September 18 in the Portland Building’s lobby.
