$100,000 AVAILABLE FOR NEIGHBORHOOD AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROJECTS IN 2019

The City of Portland Community & Civic Engagement Small Grants Program (formerly "Neighborhood Small Grants Program") has approximately $100,000 available to give out in grants to neighborhood and community organizations for community engagement projects in 2019.

The City of Portland Office of Community & Civic Life is partnering with Portland’s seven neighborhood district coalitions to give out the funds. The seven neighborhood coalitions and their grant funds available are: 

• Central Northeast Neighbors (CNN) -- $10,000
• East Portland Community Office (EPCO) -- (EPCO is not participating in the grant program this year.)
• Neighbors West-Northwest (NWNW) -- $13,423
• North Portland Neighborhood Services (NPNS) -- (NPNS is not participating in this grant program this year--see below for other NPNS grant opportunities.)
• Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods (NECN) -- $14,000
• Southeast Uplift Neighborhood Coalition (SE Uplift)   -- $27,165
• Southwest Neighborhoods, Inc. (SWNI) -- $13,833

To be eligible for grant funding a project must benefit the community in one of the coalition districts above.

Each neighborhood coalition has its own application process.

To apply for a grant, identify the district in which the project would take place, and follow the application process for that district.

North Portland Neighborhood Services (NPNS)

NPNS will not be participating in the Community & Civic Engagement Small Grants Program this year.

Instead, NPNS is offering two other grant programs:

• North Portland Trust Fund (PPR PIR) $35,000, and
• Vanport Legacy Fund (Metro $65,000)
