What is a Neighborhood Tree Team?

Tree Teams are groups of dedicated volunteers who care about and for their neighborhood's trees. Tree Teams work with Urban Forestry to plan tree events in neighborhoods, such as educational workshops, tree walks, or tree stewardship activities such as pruning or planting. Tree Teams also represent and advocate for trees at neighborhood association meetings and serve as a connection between Urban Forestry and neighbors. 

Your friends at PP&R Urban Forestry offer support for Tree Teams by:

• Helping to develop Neighborhood Tree Plans using data from Portland's Tree Inventory
• Connecting your Tree Team with community resources
• Providing technical assistance for community tree events and workshops
• Work with Tree Teams to create programs for their community such as Pop-Up Arboreta
• Assist Tree Teams with the Portland Pruners program to care for their neighborhood trees
• Providing funds, supplies and assistance for events and larger projects through Urban Forestry Stewardship Support
