Tacoma Street Neighborhood Traffic Management Project

Project Description

The purpose of this project was to reduce cut-through traffic from the Sellwood Bridge onto neighborhood streets. Traffic congestion related to the Sellwood Bridge creates incentives for people driving to use local streets adjacent to SE Tacoma St as cut-through routes. The project proposed the installation of speed bumps on six local streets both north and south of SE Tacoma St to discourage their use by non-local traffic and reduce associated speeding.
