What’s happening now? 

This project is currently nearing the end of design. Following this, this project will go out to bid for a contractor.  

 Project Background and Description: 

In partnership with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and the South Portland neighborhood, PBOT has been working since 2012 to design and construct a pedestrian and bicycle crossing on SW Naito Parkway at SW Whitaker Street. The Naito at Whitaker project is a critical connection for residents, workers and stakeholders. The crossing is an important safety feature and acritical connection for OHSU staff and the general public to move between South Waterfront and the Marquam Hill campuses.  

Current Project Phase: Design 

Total Project Budget: $500,000 from the PBOT General Fund 

Construction Date: Construction can start as early as late Fall 2019
