NW Front Avenue - Naito Parkway LID

LID formed by City Council on March 15, 2017.

A Notice to Proceed for construction was issued on October 29, 2018.

Paving of northbound NW Front Avenue and NW Naito Parkway travel lanes completed on June 15, 2019.

Paving of southbound NW Front Avenue and NW Naito Parkway travel lanes completed on August 25, 2019.

Most striping completed on October 28, 2019.  Remaining minor striping is planned to be completed by 11/15/19.

Mast arm traffic signal installation at NW 17th & Front Avenue and at NW 15th & Front Avenue completed on November 7, 2019.

Mast arm traffic signal installation at NW 9th & Front Avenue / Naito Parkway scheduled for completion on November 8, 2019.

Project scope consists primarily of pavement rehabilitation, which provides the opportunity to change a 5-lane cross section to a 3-lane cross section while adding buffered bike lanes and new bus stops to improve access to transit.  The project will also upgrade curb ramps to compliance with Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requirements.  Traffic signals at NW 9th Avenue, NW 15th Avenue and NW 17th Avenue will also be partially rebuilt.

Project is substantially complete; contract closeout and final assessment pending.

Streets include:

  • NW Front Avenue from the north property line of 2220 NW Front Avenue to NW 15th Avenue
  • NW Naito Parkway from NW 15th Avenue to NW 9th Avenue

The property owner of 2035 NW Front Avenue is providing supplemental funding for this project with most costs funded by the Portland Bureau of Transportation.  If you have any questions about this project, please contact Local Improvement District Administrator and Project Manager Andrew Aebi.
