Industries including hospitals and dialysis clinics, fire response, and commercial and residential customers depend on water every day. The Portland Water Bureau will keep water flowing and available to our community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We have taken significant steps to ensure that our essential employees stay safe, healthy, and will continue their important work of delivering high-quality drinking water throughout this public health crisis. Your water service will not be disrupted. However, a much bigger threat to our water supply is an earthquake, and it is recommended that you have 1 gallon of water per person, per day, for 14 days.
You may be able to get a bill discount or crisis voucher. Our Customer Service team is working hard to answer questions. We are maintaining workplace distancing, so we have fewer staff members working than we normally do. You may need to wait longer than normal to talk to a representative.
The Bureau of Environmental Services and the Water Bureau offer financial assistance in the form of: Payment arrangements; Bill discounts for sewer and water charges; Crisis vouchers; The Utility Safety Net program.
